iLove

I love big sweaters and warm cups of tea.
Colourful summer days and cozy autumn afternoons.
I love lush gardens and old homes.
Books thick with unread pages and possibility.
I love romance and history.
The rain and the setting sun.

I love happy endings.

Pink Peonies

These were fresh from the garden and I couldn't resist! Stunning by nature and completely elegant in a clean, low cylinder.

Galleries and Decisions.

There's something attractive about collections. I'm not a pack-rat (yet) but for whatever reason, I really like sets of things. Three vases in a row on my dining room table, a grouping of hanging tea light holders on my porch, and a cluster of frames on my wall.

I've managed to accomplish the first step of the latter by coercing my boyfriend into hanging them (he did a great job, don't you think?), but now I have to figure out what to put in them!

I'm leaning toward a careful selection of b&w photographs, but pressed herbs, sketches, or something with a bit more colour could work well too. Heck, maybe a little of both.

While I toy with this, enjoy some gallery inspiration (and wish me luck).

Tango.

This probably should have been posted closer to the beginning of the new year, but to make use of a perfectly good idiom, better late than never.

One of my favourite things about ringing in a new year is looking to Pantone for guidance on colour (come on, people, they're the world-renowned authority on the darn subject). But inspire they do, and I can't help but find myself influenced by the forecast.

For 2012, Pantone suggests you 'dance into the new year with this vivacious and appealing reddish orange'. They've clearly never seen me dance, but that's beside the point.

The point is, it's energetic, optimistic, warm, friendly, and exotic. What's not to love?
